As of March 27, 2020
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our daily lives, we know people want an outlet, a stress-relief, a chance to play with their mates and rekindle their love of basketball. We are in the midst of something we have never experienced before and will hopefully never experience again. Basketball’s on-court hiatus is in place to help us “flatten the curve” of infection and ease the spread of the COVID-19 virus, this is the sacrifice that the community must make. Basketball will not be brought down by the current situation. Our current priority is to make decisions that ensure the health and wellbeing of all players, coaches, officials, staff, volunteers and all of our families are maintained.
We continue to regularly consult with key stakeholders including the Victorian Government, VicSport and Basketball Australia, as well as listening to our members which assists us in providing the appropriate guidance, information and updates on the continually unfolding COVID-19 situation and the effect on the basketball community.
Basketball Victoria Update
In light of the new Stage 1 restrictions from the State and Federal Government, Basketball Victoria’s offices in Wantirna and Bendigo were closed from 5pm Monday 23/3/2020.
There are a small number of key Basketball Victoria employees working from home, while the State Basketball Centre and Bendigo office reception(s) have new voicemails directing the public to email email@example.com if assistance is required.
