EXPRESSIONS of Interest have opened for Victoria Metropolitan referees and referee coaches at the 2019 Southern Cross Challenge (SCC).
Referees and referee coaches are encouraged to submit their EOI to register your availability for the upcoming Southern Cross Challenge, held Friday 19 January to Monday 21 January at the State Basketball Centre, Wantirna South. Referees and Referee Coaches will also need to be available to attend a camp day on Thursday 18 January in the lead up to the event.
The Southern Cross Challenge brings together the best up-and-coming under-14 and under-15 players from Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and ACT, to help develop junior athletes and prepare in elite environments ahead of state and national duties in later years.
Basketball Victoria opens up this elite opportunity to our junior referees and up-and-coming referee coaches to further aid in the development of our officials throughout the year in a number of tournament settings.
The following expression of interest is to register your availability. Automatic selection is not guaranteed as there are limited spaces allocated. You will be expected to be available for the entirety of the Southern Cross Challenge.
There will be no cost to attend as Basketball Victoria will cover the costs. Game fees are not paid to individual referees, but are instead put towards accommodation and internal travel costs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for referees to develop their skills and meet other referees in a friendly, fun and exciting camp style environment.
You will be contacted via email to confirm your position for the week.
